ACTOR

Robert's breakout role came in the Hollywood stage production of Stalag 17, where he played Reed, the downed U.S. airman who entertained his fellow POWs with impressions of famous people of the time.

While his performance did not lead to a role in the film version of the play, it did win him a contract at MGM Studios playing a series of villainous German SS Officers, ultimately in the long-running TV series Combat.

After that, he returned to New York, played on and off Broadway, toured with various shows, worked in television and films and founded the Manhattan Actors Lab, which produced a number of successful performers.
